Phillip Irvin Robinson

June 27, 1935February 16, 2021

Phil (Phillip I.) Robinson, 85, passed away at his home on February 16, 2021. He was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on June 27, 1935. After living in several states, Phil and his parents moved to Pueblo, Colorado, where Phil attended Pueblo Junior College. He then graduated from New Mexico A&M (now New Mexico State) in 1957 with a Bachelor Degree of Science in Civil Engineering.

His first engineering job was in Los Angeles CA, then in Grants NM before moving to Fort Collins. He worked 40 years for Stewart & Associates, Engineering and Land Surveying, from 1960 to 2000, becoming a part-owner of the company.

On Valentine’s Day in 1962 Phil married Judy Tadlock Jones, the office secretary. Two days before his passing they celebrated their 59th anniversary.

With his 3 sons – Jeff, Jerry, and Jay – the family enjoyed many driving trips, including those to Iowa and Oklahoma to visit family. After retirement, the trips continued through the years; and Phil and Judy traveled to all 50 U.S. states.

Phil belonged to the CSU Ram Club for many years. He and Judy began attending games while the team was playing their games on South College Avenue and had season tickets for the many fun years near the foothills. Phil also belonged to the Eaton Country Club and the Men’s Golf Association. When the boys were young, Phil also managed Little League teams.

Phil is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife; 3 sons; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Remembering Phil as an old trusted business associate. I first met him when I worked for Bob Everett and the Everett Companies. I also had work contact with him when I worked for Storck Development. Phil was always kindhearted, honest businessman who you could always count on for great service and a great smile. I see that he traveled extensively in his retirement, it sounds like a lot of fun. My best to his family, they don't make them like Phil anymore.

Judy and family, may you remember the wonderful times with your family together and think of all the fun you shared with each other. Mr. Robinson was always so supportive of Judy and her activities with Soroptimists. May you feel the love from those around you.

Judy, Jeff, Jerry, Jay and family- we are sorry for your loss. Phil was a great guy and will be greatly missed. I also know he was such a great sport when you all came back to Iowa and stayed at the Denison farm for our reunions. We all had fun and had lots of short nights!!! There might have been a few times some were still up talking when dad and Phil got up the next morning!!! You are in our prayers. We love you all. Rachelle ⛳️

Condolences to the entire Robinson family from myself and in memory of my mother. I remember Mr. Robinson from the many years of my mother working at Stewart Associates (Drilling Engineers) and seeing him and the boys at the office the evenings I helped my mama doing the janitorial duties. And going to school with Jeff, then connecting with Jay on FB several years ago.
May God be with you all and may Mr. Robinson and my mama say hello again.

Our deep sympathy to the extended Robinson family at Phil's passing. We have great memories of working with Phil to transport books for the SIFC/AAUW Used Book Sales.

The Robinsons were our neighbors in South College Heights. Phil was my baseball coach for the Poodles! Right after tee ball. I liked him right away. He smiled alot and was kind and gentle with us rascals. I saw Phil and Judy recently at Ace Hardware and told them who I was and they remembered. Both Phil and Judy had big smiles on their faces and really engaged with me so nicely. Such great demeanors. A good smart man and so respectful, Phil was :)
