Ramona “Monie” June Mitchell was born on December 3, 1928 in Cheyenne WY to Carrie (Woods) and James Benson. She lived in Cheyenne until 2014 when they moved to Loveland, CO. She married Wayne Mitchell on August 2, 1946 and they celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father; a sister, Virginia Minear; son, Dennis Mitchell; and two grandsons, Kevin Caldwell and Cody Horbelt.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Mitchell; daughters, Judy Horbelt (Tony) and Linda Caldwell (Bob); a sister, Barbara Hough; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She loved her family and was always in good spirits, had many friends and enjoyed life to its fullest. She loved to sing to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite songs were “Three Little Fishes” and “Cheyenne”.
She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. We love her dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July 2017 in Cheyenne, when all family are present. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pathways Hospice in care of Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
