Richard “Rich” Anthony Strick passed away August 1, 2026. He was born October 15, 1963 to Peter and Dorothy Strick in Burlington, CO. He received his high school diploma from Burlington High School, attended the University of Northern Colorado and had a PhD from “The School of Hard Knocks”. He was a man who could fix anything and had a work ethic like no other.
He had a wonderful childhood with loving and hardworking parents along with his two sisters, Cindy and Letha. He was a very accomplished athlete and especially an outstanding wrestler even going to Europe to compete in a World Tournament. He loved to play on his family and friends farms, have sleep overs with cousins, play Snurts and race hot wheel cars.
He and his first wife Barb started Aqua Spas in 1997. The hot tub dealership grew to be extremely successful, won countless awards from Master Spas and was at one time considered to be the best in the country living up to their slogan “Simply the Best”. Barb’s passing in 2016 was the biggest heartbreak of Rich’s life. He never stopped loving her deeply.
In 2017, he met Cindy Lavers and they were married in 2019. Together they shared a love of animals, beach vacations, motorcycle rides, rodeos, rock concerts, golf outings, football games and road trips in the RV with all seven white Siberian Huskies!
Rich was a lover of Jesus. He never missed a morning reading his devotional and praying in his hot tub. He was very proud of his relationship with Jesus and would not hesitate to let anyone know the power of His Father in Heaven. He loved his dogs like they were his children. He was very proud of his Arabian horse “Veyron”. His pride and joy was his ranch property, and more specifically his garden.
Rich was larger than life itself and unapologetically himself. When he walked into a room with his captivating blue eyes and mischievous smile, he lit it up.
He is survived by his wife Cindy, sisters Cindy Crouse and Letha Wentz, niece Stephanie Unruh (daughters Raelyn and Brizbee Navarez), niece Jordan (Wentz) Golay, niece Taylor Wentz (fiancé Austin Schwindt), niece Kenzie Wentz, nephew Bobby Crouse (fiancée Kari Briegal), nephew Cory Crouse, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.
Rich lived life to fullest. He passed doing what he loved - riding his Harley and undoubtedly listening to 80’s hairband Rock N Roll! He will be missed by all those who loved him so.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 22 at 11:00am at 420 S. 14th Street, Burlington, CO 80807. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Realities for Children. https://www.realitiesforchildren.com/
