Dear Sylvia and Dick's family,

Very sad hearing of Dick's passing. I valued him as a very good friend and co-worker for many years at Kodak. For several years he was my ""boss"" and you could not have a better guy to work for or with. My 30 years of Bill's season tickets were because of Dick, and we shared many many games in all kinds of weather. Fishing trips, lunches, the football club, Christmas gatherings, all these good memories are what I will remember of him. I regret not having kept in better contact these last few years. He will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dick never hesitated to give me a hard time when I came to the house in high school. We were always welcome in their home and what I remember most is how he always took an interest in what I was doing. He treated me like one of his own. He was always supportive of Dan and all of his friends. I am honored to have known him and to have spent so many years in his home. He will be missed and remembered for many years to come.

Getting to know the new family in the neighborhood from Rochester has always been a memory that has stuck with me through the years.  Mr. Wesolowski was an amazingly supportive father that cared for three crazy boys as well as I hope that I can.

I will always remember the passion that Mr. Wesolowski showed in supporting Dan in his baseball career and making ""Weso"" the pitcher that he became.  He will be missed but remembered fondly by the Yoder tribe.

I worked with Dick at Rentech in Denver, CO. and what I remember most about him is the pure joy he exuded when he talked about his family. You were all loved very much.

My heartfelt condolences to all of Dick's family.  I worked with, and for, Dick for many years at Kodak - starting when he was our computer expert in the old Kodak Park Data Processing and Payroll Department.  He was just a terrific and intelligent guy - with a great personality, sense of humor, fairness, and the right thing to do.  

It was nice seeing all the pictures - one could tell from those, even without knowing Dick, what a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather he was.

We are saddened by the news of Dick's passing.  Such wonderful memories of baseball games with a super group of boys who all have grown up, like Dan, in to wonderful young men.  I still remember Dick teaching me (Marge) to keep score at baseball games and giving up when I got involved in watching the games and forgot to write things down in the scorebook.  Bless all the family during this difficult time.

Dear Sylvia;

I'm so surprised and sorry to hear of Dick's death. I hope that your memories of all your good times together will help carry you through your pain of your loss. I know how much you meant to him.
Dick was one of my dear friends at Kodak starting in the late 1960's. 

I remember two warm, low-budget social events. The first was when Dick hosted me and my wife and very young daughter for dinner in his tiny second floor apartment in Brockport. My daughter, still forming her speaking skills at the time, came up with ""Dick Nowski"" which I often used as my term of endearment for him. The second was a New Year's Eve celebration in the early 1970's at our house. The long evening, great meal and short supply of champagne led me to tap my untested supply of homemade sparkling wine. The great taste of that stuff was a surprise and treat that made a great memory for a fun-filled evening.

Dick and I shared our pride in our immigrant family's heritages.  We both could mimic a dialect of our parent's and grandparent’s broken English sayings. One of his that I've often used to describe Buffalo’s cultural history was description of the Broadway farmer's market in Buffalo as being “Down by Broadway where the streetcar bends"". 

His intelligence, strong analytical and people skills combined with his great sense of humor helped all those around him keep in touch with reality. He was a great leader. He helped many groups and individuals get through conflict.  He could see the big picture yet respect the interests that individuals and organizations needed met. He worked like an international diplomat in his efforts to bring about peace.

I was very angry for him when I heard how his great opportunity to lead KCD's HR organization was crushed by the symbolic layoff of so many top notch recently promoted managers.  In my eyes, that dumb action by Kodak management helped speed up the company's decline.

Dick was well-read and always up on the current political world. We spent many an hour as armchair quarterbacks of government policy and of course, the Bills!


My pain of his death is compounded by my regret for not being able to stay connected more regularly. He was a wonderful man.

Sad news today.  Thinking about Coach Sylvia, Dan, Kenny and the family.  Always laughing, smiling, and reminding us to not take things that seriously....Coach Dick will be greatly missed.

Mr. Wesolowski was always so much fun at all of the ""Tree Trimming Parties"" our families had back in the 80's. I don't think I ever saw him not smiling. We are all so saddened to hear of your loss and pray the happy memories bring you all peace during this time.
