

Born on January 30, 1951, in Forty Fort, Pennsylvania. Rickie was the daughter of Mel and Lee Vivian, who proceeded her in death. She grew up with her sister, Ellen Mundrake, and brother, Harry Vivian, family life revolved around riding horses and equestrian competitions. Rickie had a lifelong love for horses. Her pony, Dapple Derry, earned the title of Champion Brood Mare of New York, a source of great pride for Rickie.
Rickie attended Linden Hall School for Girls before continuing her education at Green Mountain College and Colorado State University. It was in Fort Collins where she met the love of her life, Gene Carnahan. They were married on June 17, 1977, in Estes Park, beginning a marriage filled with love, adventure, and laughter.
Rickie and Gene built a life centered around family and friendships. She was the proud mother of Devon Carnahan Hess (Bobby), Tracy Carnahan, and Ronnie Carnahan (deceased). Rickie treasured every moment spent with her children and family, embracing her roles as wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was blessed with three grandsons, Lee Carnahan (Danielle), Jase Males (Taylor), and Nick Zawadzki, all of whom brought pride and joy to her life. She was a great-grandmother to Brynlea Carnahan (Lee and Danielle).
Rickie loved music, especially The Rolling Stones, whose songs she listened to daily. Alongside Gene, she spent more than 30 years boating, and partying at Horsetooth Reservoir. Later in life, the couple developed a shared love for rodeo.
Rickie will be remembered for her humor, warmth, loyalty, and strength. Her kindness, spirit, and devotion to family and friends leave behind a legacy that will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
