Riding away into the Sunset!
Romaine J. Heller (Rewers) "Ro" completed her life's journey on Janurary 1st, 2022.
Ro was born in Bay City, Michigan in the Spring of 1939. She was the third of eight children born to Chester and Regina Rewers. Ro grew up working hard on her families potato farm outside of Bay City.
Ro married John Lowell Heller from Narberth, PA on July 15th, 1961. The couple relocated to Colorado in 1964. Ro and John raised John Jr. and Roberta Jean in Lakewood, Colorado. John passed away in January 2002, and Ro moved to Fort Collins, Colorado to start her new life in May 2004.
Ro was very active! She volunteered for the Aspen Club at Poudre Valley Hospital. She drove for SAINT for a short time. She volunteered her sewing skills and her time to the Women's Sewing Group at Faith E. Free making quilts, diapers, wheelchair bags, and also sewed for Days for Girls. Ro was always helping her neighbors and friends when they couldn't do something for themselves. With all her volunteer activities, she also adored playing cards, especially "Hand and Foot", games, "Bunco", and having lunch, dinner, or movie dates. Ro definitely kept her calender full.
Ro is survived by her children John, Roberta, and their families (Donita, Sierra/Joseph, McKenna, Matt, Brittney/Garrett, Lyndsey/Chandler), a brother in Kalamazoo, Michigan, numerous nieces and nephews, and four great-grand children!
Ro did not want a memorial service. Instead, she wished to be remembered for the life she lived. So please, in honor of Ro, buy yourself (or someone else) some flowers, especially roses, play Bunco or Hand and Foot with your family or friends, eat a Panera bagel (cinnamon crunch), enjoy a Noni Biscotti, or watch a Denver Broncos or Colorado Avalanche Game!
"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
by David M. Romano 1993
"When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your
eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didnt get to say.
I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart."
