

Rose L. MillerBorn in Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim, Germany on April 10, 1928. Departed on August 14, 2008 to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. She resided most of her life in Ft. Collins, Colorado.Rose Luise Miller, 80, of Ft. Collins, CO, peacefully passed away on August 14, 2008 at Spring Ridge Park Alzheimer's Assisted Living in Wheat Ridge, CO. Her parents were Friedrich and Luise (Schüssler) Bender. Rose met Wayne Miller in Heidelberg while he served a tour of duty with the U.S. Army. They married on February 2, 1958 on his family's farm near Windsor, CO.They moved to Ft. Collins, CO in 1972 where she cared for her daughter and ailing husband. After her husband's death in 1977, she worked for 21 years for the Poudre R-1 School District as a cook. Rose's hobbies included knitting, crocheting, needlework, gardening and cooking (which is what she enjoyed most of all). She had a wonderful laugh and a great sense of humor. She was a sweet, kind, loving lady who was liked by all. Her family dearly loved her and she will remain in their hearts forever.Rose is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Monica (Miller) Douglas and Ray Douglas; and her two grandchildren, Brianna Douglas and Zackery Douglas. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Fritz and Helmut; sister, Liesel; husband, Wayne; and step-daughter, Karalee.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church of Ft. Collins which will be followed by a reception.Memorial contributions may be made in Rose Miller's name to Spring Ridge Park and mailed to 5361 W. 26th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO 80214.
