Shannon’s soul was beautiful and bright. Her heart was full of love. She was kind and caring beyond measure. The world was truly a better place with Shannon in it. Her incredible spirit will continue to shine on and inspire all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
Shannon’s journey through life began on November 22, 1980 in Florence, South Carolina. She was raised by her mother, Doris Flury, alongside her sisters and brother. Even as a child, Shannon demonstrated kindness and love for nature, animals, butterflies, and all things beautiful. She was dedicated to her family and even left high school early to care for her siblings.
In 1994, Shannon met Charles “Chuck” Manning at West Florence High School. They were best friends in no time and, a little later in life, would become life-partners. Chuck loved Shannon more than anything in the world. Shannon worked for a time as short order cook before moving into restaurant management, and then retail management. She later went on to become a home health worker and stayed home to care for Chuck. They moved to Colorado in 2016, seeking better health care options.
Shannon was blessed with two wonderful children. To her children, she was the strongest person they would ever know. She was someone they could look up to. She was truly an inspiration. She had big dreams for her children and wanted them to be the best they could be, always. Shannon believed in her children and was always there to support them in life. She loved them so much.
Shannon was beautiful inside and out. Her smile could brighten the darkest of days. Shannon was a loving and giving person. She was generous and would give her last cent to help a friend or family member in need. She was also brave and courageous. Her family meant the world to her and she would do anything for them. She was also a fierce friend, always loyal to those she loved. She loved life, nature, and all living things. Shannon loved to take care of animals, and she loved to garden. She was also artistic and creative and made the most beautiful miniature houses.
Shannon was a loving mother, wife, and best friend. Her love of nature and family was unrivaled. She will be deeply missed.
Shannon’s legacy of love will live on in the hearts of her husband, Chuck, her children, Kailey Shay & Joshua, and stepdaughter, Lilly. She is also survived by her sisters, Robin and Barbara; mother-in-law, Diana “Memaw” and father-in-law, Papa Jim; sister-in-law, Jessica, and brother-in-law, Phillip; as well as her beloved feline friends, Blackula, Nanni, & Sesame, and dog-in-law, Tessie.
She is greeted on the other side by her mother Doris, sister Rita, brother Christopher, and cherished kitty, Peatree.
