A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, Sharon will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Born on September 1, 1942, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, Sharon was the cherished only daughter of the late George and Doris McCullough. She grew up in Wahpeton, North Dakota, where she spent many joyful years surrounded by family and lifelong friends. She often reminisced about time spent with her brothers, potlucks with friends where they danced to Elvis, and treasured days visiting her grandparents in Wolverton, Minnesota.
Sharon graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1960 and went on to build a long and fulfilling career in government service. She began her work with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and later joined the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), where she remained until her retirement. She took great pride in her work and deeply valued the many friendships she made along the way.
In 1992, Sharon married Ken Mosness, embracing a large blended family and a life filled with community, faith, and celebration.
Together, Ken and Sharon made their home in Carr, Colorado, where they delighted in hosting community egg hunts, family gatherings, and welcoming neighbors with open hearts. Sharon was an active member of her community, her church, and the Carr Women’s Club, where she formed many cherished friendships. She loved scrapbooking, cardmaking, dancing, traveling, and spending time with those she loved most.
Sharon touched countless lives with her kindness, warmth, and welcoming spirit.
She is survived by her children—Brenda, Greg, Jackie, and Brian—along with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, her brothers, and many other relatives and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ken Mosness; her parents; and her brother, Dale McCullough.
Sharon’s family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Lemay Avenue Health and AccentCare Hospice. The kindness, care, and love shown to Sharon throughout her battle with Alzheimer’s meant more than words can express.
