Shirley Marie Guiberson

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Shirley Marie Guiberson, of Severance, Colorado. Shirley passed away on July 16, 2026, at the age of 65, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 30, 1960, in Billings, Montana, to Gladys and Charles Willis Hrasky, Shirley lived a life defined by her devotion to her faith and family, thoughtfulness, and boundless generosity. She was a beacon of warmth and innocence, known for her kindness, the best hugs, making every house the family lived in a home, and baking amazing chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls.

After graduating from Billings Senior High School, Shirley attended Eastern Montana College before leaving to marry Tim and move with him to Idaho. It was there that Shirley went into banking before the couple started their family. When the kids were a little older, Shirley went back to work as the registrar at Pine Grove Elementary School in Parker, and had executive assistant careers at Cheyenne Regional Hospital and the Aging Division of the Wyoming Department of Health.

Shirley volunteered at Clearview Library, Weld Food Bank and hospice in Cheyenne. She enjoyed quilting, baking, swimming, gardening, laughing in the greeting card aisles when finding the perfect card for someone, and being a lifetime penpal to her best friend Theresa. Shirley loved traveling with Tim to visit family in Anaconda and Billings, a dream vacation to New York City, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Fe, and Oahu and Maui, Hawaii, to escape cold winters.

Above all, her greatest joys in life were her faith and family. Shirley was a loving wife to Tim for 46 years, and was a perfect fit for Tim. She was a guiding light and best mom to Laura, Eric, and Adam, and a doting Grammy to Joel. As mother-in-law to Jake, they held a special bond over their love of everything coffee. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church. Shirley leaves behind a legacy of love, the best hugs, and cherished memories.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband, Tim; her daughter, Laura (Jake) Hout, and sons Eric (Katie), and Adam; her grandson, Joel; her siblings, Willeen (Gordy) Gooselaw and Nina (Noah) Gregory; brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; her dear friends Theresa Dernbach, and Kathy Lucas, plus so many good friends through the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Charles Willis Hrasky.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Shirley’s life and birthday will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 1pm-4pm, at the Banquet Room at Pelican Lakes, located at 1620 Pelican Lakes Point, Windsor, CO 80550. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Shirley’s memory to Dementia Together, an organization based in Fort Collins that provides essential education and community support for those dealing with any stage or type of dementia and their caregivers (https://dementiatogether.org/give/). The family would also like to thank her care team at Poudre Valley Hospital for their compassionate support during her final days.
