Shirley Liggett Johnson was born August 1, 1919 and passed away peacefully on August 23,2021.
Her parents were Charlie and Nannie Liggett. Charlie owned the Silver Grill in Ft. Collins for many years. Shirley married Irwin Leroy “Red” Johnson on December 29, 1940. She is survived by 3 children, Chuck Johnson (Susan), Cheryl Johnson, and Kip Johnson (Lynn May). She was an avid bowler, golfer and bridge player. She attended CSU, majoring in home economics and that’s where she met “Red”. He was the manager of Great Western Sugar Company in several cities. After retirement, they traveled extensively with Ports of Call Travel Club based in Denver. She loved to knit, play solitaire, bingo, and cards with family and friends. The Ft. Collins Methodist Church was where she was a member her whole life. The past 12 years she has been painting small flowers on china which was one of the things on her “bucket list”. New Mercer Commons had been her residence the past 2 years.
Memorial service will be at Allnutt Funeral Home in Ft. Collins on August 27 at 11:00
