Silviano “Sylvester” Lopez, 68, of Fort Collins, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, he was a son of late Pablo and Paulina Lopez. Silviano lived in Fort Collins for the greater part of his life.
Silviano came to Colorado when he was only 15 years old with a dream to create a better life for himself. Silviano was a self-made, hardworking, ambitious man who built his own business of “Masterpiece Painting Co.” in 1984. For more than 20 years he traveled the United States fulfilling commercial painting contracts as well as local side bids, all while raising a family. Silviano loved carpentry work and the mountains; especially the rivers and the lakes this great state has to offer. He loved to cook and host family gatherings; he loved all things creative, but most of all, he loved his family.
Surviving is his wife of 27 years, Araceli Lopez; children, Paul Lopez of Fort Collins, CO, Ericka Lopez of Fort Collins, CO, David Lopez of Greeley, CO, Anthony Lopez of Fort Collins, CO, and Joselyn Lopez of Fort Collins, CO; 8 grandchildren of CO; and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Maria Lopez, and brother, Geronimo Lopez.
A memorial service for Silviano will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 28, 2022, at Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, CO, with a graveside service to follow.
