Stanley E. Lorek (Stan), 94, of Loveland, CO passed away on April 21, 2016. Stan was born in Chicago, IL on December 15, 1921. He married his next door neighbor and childhood sweetheart Ann Szerszen on March 28, 1945. They were married 71 years.
Stan was a lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War. He initially served as a bombardier-navigator aboard the B-17 planes and later trained others to do the same. Upon the end of the WWII he worked as a leather cutter and foreman for over 20 years at the Lamkin Leather Company in Chicago with two of his brothers. He was then employed as a security officer for the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago, a position from which he retired in 1983. He and Ann moved to Loveland, CO from Harwood Heights, IL in October 2010.
Stan is survived by his spouse, Ann Lorek; his children, Kenneth S. Lorek, Kathleen Lorek Miller, and Patricia Ann Lorek; his grandchildren, Kenneth D. Lorek, Mathew D. Miller, and Georgia D. Robinson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John Lorek, Walter Lorek, and Frank Lorek, his sister Estelle Przybylski, as well as his grandson Michael R. Fleming.
