With a certificate in x-ray techniques from Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, Theda demonstrated a practical intelligence and determination that served her well throughout her life. Although she was a homemaker for most of her years, she also owned a used clothing store for several years—work she truly loved.
Theda found comfort and meaning in the simple, faithful rhythms of daily life. She loved to read until she lost her sight in her 70s, and she cherished her morning walks. She also dearly loved her dog, Echo, whose companionship brought warmth and steadiness to her days.
Theda was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Garland and Catherine Cote; her sister, Beverly Day; and her husbands, Leo Casey (married May 17, 1950), Leroy Gearl (married March 22, 1969), and Robert Anderson (married August 9, 1974), all of whom are deceased. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Aline Flynn.
Theda is survived by her children: Fred Casey, Deanna Casey, Nadine Wheeler, and Melanie Kilburn. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Hannah Flynn, Peter Flynn, John Flynn, Michael Flynn, Codie Wheeler, Stephanie Hansen, Danielle Taylor, Trever Schmidt, Brendan Casey, Nena Casey, Dallin Casey, and Dana Cardon; and by her great-grandchildren: Aspen Hansen, Eden Hill, Kinsley Schmidt, Cash Tomascak, and Grayson Taylor.
