

Tom was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Anthony and Mary Peters on August 13, 1943. He grew up in Pocahontas, Iowa alongside his three older sisters, Karen, LaVon and Therese. Tom graduated from Pocahontas Catholic High School in 1961. He attended Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. Tom also proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Tom married Faye Johanna Ludwig on August 3, 1968 in Varina, Iowa. They moved to Colorado in 1970 and enjoyed spending time outdoors in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Tom especially liked camping, fishing and hunting. In July 1975, Tom and Faye welcomed their first daughter Deidre Ann, and were then blessed with their second daughter Andrea Marie in February 1978. Tom worked in sales and with the help of two business partners, started a company, Essential Safety Products, in Denver, Colorado. Tom loved reading, golf, his beloved Iowa State Cyclones, and his Irish heritage. One of Tom’s favorite memories was when he took a trip to Ireland with Faye and his siblings in 2010. Once retired Tom continued his love of reading with weekly visits to the library. He was a devout Catholic and attended Saturday night mass at St. Mark's Catholic Church, where he was a parishioner for almost 50 years.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Deidre Peters-Muleski, her husband Keith and their three children Abbygail Faye, Robin Vivian and Kensley Ann; and Andrea Jones, her husband Nick and their two children Hannah Elizabeth and Griffin Anthony; and by his sister, Therese Gaps.
Tom is preceded in death by his wife Faye Peters; his parents, Anthony & Mary Peters; and by his sisters Karen DeWolf and Lavon Wiser.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church 1250 7th St. Windsor, CO 80550. Light lunch to follow services.
