Warren was born on June 29, 1933 in Boise, Idaho. His parents were Conrad E. Hawkins and Thelma R. (Bower) Hawkins. He grew up in Eagle, Idaho with one brother, Raymond E. Hawkins, and one sister, Vina Mae (Hawkins) LaSasso.
Warren joined the Navy in 1950 spending the majority of his enlisted time on the USS Passumpsic and was the recipient of several service medals during his enlistment. To his last days Warren would tell you that his service lasted 3 years, 9 months, and 8 days! He was discharged from the Navy in April of 1954.
Upon his return to Idaho, Warren met the love of his life, Marilyn Mae George. They married in the fall of 1955 and started their family. The majority of Warrens working years were spent as a Refined Fuels Manager for Poudre Valley Co-Op. He loved golf, playing 2 or 3 days a week, weather permitting, for nearly all of his retired years. He spent time fly fishing, enjoyed tying his own flies and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his lovely wife Marilyn Hawkins, daughter Vickie Aleman of Fort Collins, son Craig Hawkins and his wife Tanya of Fort Collins, grandchildren Jordan, Talisha, Christopher, and Nicklaus, great grandchildren Tiara, Amadeo, and Sarea. He was preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Thelma, his brother Raymond, and his sister Vina.
Warren loved a good story, and always had a smile for you. His endearing love for his wife and his passion for life never wavered. He will be well and dearly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
He will be laid to rest in a private Graveside Committal Service at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins. Treasured memories of Warren and words of condolence for his family are welcome at www.resthavencolorado.com .
