Wayne Huffman, 83, entered Heaven’s gates on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. He was born in Salida, Colorado on February 4, 1937 to Luther Vern and Martha May Huffman. He was raised in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Central High School. He worked at Monarch-Quarry and was then hired at Mountain Bell. He served for two years in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany during his time of service. After his service in the military, he moved to Fort Collins where he continued to work for Mountain Bell and retired after 45 years. He married Jeannine Schmidt on August 29, 1965 in Fort-Collins, Colorado.
Wayne’s family was his life. He loved collecting and showing antique cars, (he was a member of the Vetrans Motor Car Club of America (VMCCA)), gardening, working in his yard, flowers, wood crafting, drawing and carpentry. He always had a song in his heart. He loved gospel hymns and original country music. He was a gentle, kind, humble, generous, loving man with a great sense of humor. Wayne was loved by many who are heartbroken at his passing but are also thankful for the many years shared with this wonderful man. He dedicated his life to his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his family. He felt he was the most blessed man for the 83 years he was given.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Vern Huffman and Martha May Huffman. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine Huffman of 55 years; his two daughters, Janie (Mark) Crabtree of Louisville, KY and Cheryl (Korey) Jacquot of Windsor, CO; four grandchildren, Josh and Lauren Crabtree and Connor and Payton Jacquot; his brother, Bob (Gloria) Huffman of Dallas, TX; sisters, Marjorie (Wayne) Erizer, Louisville, KY and JoAnn (Vern) Hesslink, Moses Lake, WA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and life long friends.
An outdoor service with Military honors will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at 10:00 am, Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins, Colorado. A reception will follow at Highland Meadows Park, Windsor, Colorado.
