Bill, the eldest child of his mother Arvilla, was born in Erie, PA, He attended schools in Erie and started his working life at the age of 16. He first worked at Marathon Electric followed by a brief time at Erie Forge and Steel. Bill then went to work at what would become Erie Press Systems eventually landing in the Sales Department where he remained until he retired at age 65.
Outside of his work life, Bill was interested in sports, both as a participant and spectator. He played golf, bowled and dabbled in hunting & fishing. His true sports passion was following tbc fortunes Of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Never shy of offering opinions on a host of interests, the Steelers were the subject of many discussions with Bill.
Bill had an artistic side especially in woodworking. The bird houses he created are treasured by the friends and family that were gifted with his works. He was known for lending a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. If anyone needed help on most anything, Bill was more than happy to help.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother (Arvilla Schaucrman Smith) son, Mark Schauerman, and sister Beverly Schauerman Pearce. Survivors include: Wife, Flora of Fort Collins, CO; Daughters, Gail Sykes of Collierville, TN and Joy Harvey (Tom) of Germantown, TN; daughter-in-law, Ellen Schauerman of Fairview, PA. In addition, Bill is survived by a sister, Arvilla Miller of New Enterprises PA and a brother, Charles Schauerman residing in Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and extended family residing in Colorado and California.
NO calling hours or funeral service are planned at this time, Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are through Allnutt Funeral Services-Drake Road Chapel, Fort Collins, CO.
