

He was born on November 8, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Francis Leon Waggoner and Irene Catherine Waggoner (née Gibbs).
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Janet Waggoner, his five children, sixteen grandchildren, and his brother Richard Waggoner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Irene Waggoner.
A proud Vietnam War veteran, Bill served in the U.S. Navy before embarking on a lengthy career with technology firms and the U.S. Department of Defense. Following his professional life, he enthusiastically dedicated his retirement to traveling the world and imparting his love of travel to his children and grandchildren. He achieved his goal of setting foot on all seven continents, a testament to his adventurous spirit and lifelong curiosity.
He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his remarkable DIY skills, and his deep intellectual curiosity, which inspired those around him.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Allnutt Drake Chapel, with a reception to follow.
