Anita Marie Caruso, 72, died on June 5, 2020, in her home in Yorba Linda, California. She was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1948, graduated from Our Lady of Mercy High School in Detroit in 1966. She became a wife shortly after, and a mother to her daughter Jody in 1975. Anita lived in California, then Michigan, and back to California again from 1980 to the present.
Anita raised her daughter Jody to be brave, kind, strong and smart. She taught Jody to strive to be the best she could be, and gave her the tools to succeed in all aspects of her life. Anita herself evolved from a quiet young wife, to a woman with a voice. It was all the difference to her daughter Jody. It made the world open and all things possible for both of them.
When Jody was grown, Anita began blessing other children with her positive influence. She was a child care teacher for the PYLUSD for a decade, enriching the lives of other people’s children, helping them, like she helped Jody, to become good humans.
In 2002, Anita began working for her son-in-law’s start-up company, taking a chance on Chris’ ability to make things work. She served as the Verifications Manager of PeopleG2 for 18 years. Anita had the utmost pride in her work, and wanted to succeed, for Chris. Anita was selfless, and giving, and generous.
Anita was not only a mother and a mother-in-law, but also a Babushka to her adopted grandchildren. She was the most extraordinary grandma, raising them and loving them with Jody and Chris. She cared for them every day, cooking their favorite meals, helping with their homework, and attending all their school and sports functions.
She was known for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, and her feistiness. Anita loved to travel, especially with her family. Her first trip abroad to England exposed her to true wanderlust, and Anita decided to see more parts of the world--she continued her travels to Hawaii, Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, and Spain. Anita experienced such joy on these trips with her friends and family.
Anita leaves behind her cherished daughter Jody, her beloved son-in-law Chris, her two brothers Michael and Benny, her three grandchildren Luba, Dmitri, and Vladimir, and her very best friends Maria and Chris. Anita loved them all, and she will live on in all the people she touched in her lifetime.
Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Saturday June 20 at Pope John Paul II Polish Center, Yorba Linda.
