Aurelio Torres Lopez was born on September 25, 1957, in Rayón, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. He spent his early years there before coming to the United States in his early twenties, where he began building a life centered around hard work, family, and providing for the people he loved.
Aurelio was a man of many trades. He was talented, hardworking, creative, and never afraid to put his hands to work. His incredible work ethic became one of the greatest defining qualities of his life. He worked tirelessly to provide not only for his own family, but also for his parents and siblings back in Mexico. Taking care of his family was never simply an obligation to him—it was one of the greatest ways he expressed his love.
Aurelio is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Maria Badillo; his daughter, Bereniz Torres Badillo; and his granddaughter, Ezlyn Murillo.
Aurelio will be most remembered for his amazing work ethic, larger-than-life personality, incredible sense of humor, fearless spirit, and generous heart. He had a presence that could fill a room and a personality that was impossible to forget. He loved working, helping others, listening to music, watching soccer, and most of all, being there for the people he loved.
There will forever be a void in our home and in our hearts that no one can fill. We will miss his voice, his laughter, his music, his stories, and simply having him here with us. But although our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing that his suffering is over and that he is now at peace—whole, restored, and healed in the presence of God.
We know this is not goodbye forever. His love, his lessons, his laughter, and the life he built will continue through the family he loved so deeply.
