Bishop James Donald Carrington

   Bishop James Donald Carrington, founding Pastor and Pastor Emeritus of the Friendship Baptist Church of Yorba Linda, CA passed away on Thursday, November 15th in Yorba Linda.  He was 85 years old. He was born on September 25, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He pastored Friendship Baptist Church for over 48 years. Friendship Baptist Church began in Fullerton, CA in 1964 and moved to Yorba Linda in 1987. Bishop Carrington was a long-term resident of Yorba Linda himself.    Bishop Carrington was a faith-filled visionary leader who pastored the people of God with patience. He will be missed by his family, the Friendship Church Family, sons and daughters in the gospel preaching ministry, mentees he accumulated along the way, and various Christian ministries and organizations he served throughout his ministry career. He was God’s servant and a man for the people.    Bishop Carrington leaves to cherish his memory and legacy his beloved wife of 58 years, the Rev. Doris Constance Carrington; two children, Darlene Denise Haynes and DeHaven Carrington; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, other relatives, and family friends.       Viewing will be 3 PM - 8 PM Friday, November 30 with a service to start at 7 PM at Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 1st at Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will be 11 AM Monday, December 3, 2018 at Inglewood Park Cemetery.
