

Carmen Margarita Perez passed on May 5, 2026, at the age of 84, and was a resident of Fullerton, California. Carmen was born in El Paso, Texas, on September 23, 1941. She graduated from Austin High School in El Paso, Texas, in 1959. In 1963, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a minor in Physics from Texas Western, later renamed University of Texas at El Paso. Following her graduation, she moved to California to accept a position with IBM as a systems engineer in the emerging computer industry. She married the love of her life, James, on June 5th, 1965. They were happily married 54 years until James’ passing in 2019. She is survived by sons Jon, James, Joe, Robert and Michael and 11 grandchildren, all of whom she loved and cherished. For years, she enjoyed playing tennis at the Tennis Center in Fullerton and in Borrego Springs. Carmen and James loved their season tickets to USC football, Angels baseball and Cal State Fullerton baseball. She created timeless family treasures with her cross-stitching. Every year she continued the tradition of making homemade Christmas tamales. Carmen will be greatly missed by all the family and friends whose lives she enriched.
A Rosary will be held May 26 at 7:00 pm at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N Harbor Blvd, Fullerton. A Memorial Mass will be held May 27 at 10:00 am at St. Juliana Falconeri Catholic Church, 1316 N Acacia St, Fullerton, CA.
