Catherine Marie Schneider

Catherine was born on September 27th 1928 in Horse Shoe Run, West Virginia to Alva “Kighty” Kight and Hazel Shaffer.

She was raised on her Grandparents farm in rural West Virginia. When she reached adulthood, Catherine left for Toledo, Ohio, where she met her husband of 50 years, the late Harvey J. Schneider, Sr.

They married in 1952 and settled in the Cleveland area. They moved to Southern California in 1967, where she resided until her death. She leaves behind 4 Children and 8 Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. Eldest son Bruce and his wife Karen Schneider and their two children Andrew and Alyssa and Great-Grandson Lane; middle son Dale Schneider and former wife Debra Schneider who remains a cherished member of the family, and their two children Marie and Michael; only daughter Sandra and her husband Rick Skeen, and her 2 children Richard and Anthony and Great-Grandson Brody; and youngest son Harvey, Jr. and his wife Patricia Schneider, and their two children, Justin Enders and Harvey III (Jacob).

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Alan and Norman Shaffer, and her sister Linda Kight.

Catherine was a loving and caring mother and worked in JC Penny’s catalog and credit department for 15 years.

She loved quilting, travelling, watching baseball and playing card games. Catherine was known for her friendly demeanor, as well as being a kind, caring, empathetic person.

She will be deeply missed, but her enormous capacity for love and compassion will be remembered forever by those whose lives she touched.

A viewing will be held at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, located at 902 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92832, on February 18, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary service will occur at the same location on February 18, 2026, starting at 6:00 pm.

The funeral service is scheduled for February 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Beatitudes of Our Lord, 13013 Santa Gertrudes Ave, La Mirada, CA 90638.

The committal service will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Cyn Rd, Orange, CA 92869, on February 19, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
