Born on January 24, 1938, in Homer, LA, Cathy was the daughter of Rosie Lee Webb and R.B. Cotton.
Cathy's story only gets richer. She began her education at Mt. Pisgah Community School and then Homer High School in Homer, LA. Around 1951, she made a life-changing move to California, where she met Harry L. Warrior in about 1952. Their marriage, which lasted 25 years, brought two beloved sons, McCallister "Pede" and Ronald Brian, into the world. Even though they eventually parted ways in 1983, the memories and family they built remain central to her life's journey.
Cathy's professional journey is nothing short of remarkable. She kick started her career at Autonetics in Fullerton, CA, which later became a part of North American Rockwell Corporation after a merger in 1967. Eventually, this evolved into Boeing North American Inc. when Rockwell International's aerospace and defense divisions were acquired by Boeing in 1996. During her tenure at Boeing, Cathy didn't just stick to one role; she climbed the ladder to become a Human Resources Manager while juggling multiple part-time jobs, such as delivering newspapers for the Orange County Register.
Despite her busy schedule, Cathy was dedicated to her personal growth and education. She earned a Bachelor's Degree from California State University Fullerton (CSUF) and later secured a Master's Degree from California State University Long Beach (CSULB). After more than three decades at Boeing, she retired. However, her commitment to making a difference didn't end there.
In 2010, she joined the Anaheim Union High School District's Special Education Program as a teacher's assistant. The bond she formed with her students was special, evident from the heartfelt picture album they created for her when she retired at the age of 78, each student leaving a personal message for her. Cathy’s journey showcases a blend of professional excellence and deep, personal connections that truly make her story.
Her dedication extended beyond her professional achievements; Cathy was a devoted member of the Friendship Baptist Church for over 30 years, where she served as a Board of Trustees member and usher under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Dr. James D. Carrington. She continued to remain active at the church under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth C. Curry, until she was no longer able to attend.
Cathy's culinary talents were legendary. She catered weddings, family dinners, and even took her favorite dishes to work for her coworkers. She had a passion for cookbooks, cooking shows, and was an avid gardener with a renowned green thumb. Her home reflected her love for interior decorating, always beautifully adorned for every season. Cathy wasn't afraid to venture out alone and traveled extensively for both business and pleasure. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and love for dressing up, hats, purses, and shoes were hallmarks of her vibrant personality. Cathy was an angel among us, a sentiment echoed by her collection of angel figurines.
So, blending her remarkable career with her rich personal history, Cathy's life is an inspiring tapestry of dedication, love, and resilience. Truly a life lived to the fullest.
