Charles Boatright was born in Huntsville, Arkansas to Charlie and Lois Boatright. His family moved out to California when Charles was a boy and he graduated from Huntington Park High School. He went on to Cal State Long Beach where he graduated with a B.A in Engineering. In Norwalk, California at Pioneer Baptist Church he met Karen and in 1964 they married and later on had three sons. Meanwhile, Charles worked as an electrical engineer on the Apollo 11 command module at North American Aviation. Like many Americans he was proud of the moon landing and his involvement with the project. During his working career he worked for Sextant Industries, Rockwell International, TRW, and MIA Basic Four. Charles loved fishing, skiing, golfing, model plane building, and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a generous landlord, a charitable man, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, two sons, as his middle child preceded him in death, and his four precious grandchildren. As Charles favorite hymn says,
“Onward Christian soldiers marching off to war, with the cross of Jesus going on before,
Christ the royal Master, leads against the foe, forward into battle see His banners go”
Charles battled death and overcame because he now resides with Jesus the Messiah who has died in his place and the blood of Christ covers him. As the Lord was raised from the dead, so too will he have his glorified body when Christ returns.
