

Charles S. McAuley passed away on Tuesday June 8th, 2010. He was born in Spokane, WA on October 25th, 1920 and lived a wonderful 89+ years, maintaining a positive attitude and a sense of humor to the end, even as the doctors and nurses poked and prodded him. Chuck was a veteran of WWII, serving under Gen. Patton in the III Army in France; he was the owner of Los Coyotes Country Club through the family company, McAuley LCX Corporation; he had had a long career in the oil industry, working for Chevron of CA from 1946 until 1955, Douglas Oil Company (now Paramount Petroleum) from 1955 to 1960, and starting his own oil company in 1960 which operated until 1982, before retiring to his new and final career in the golfing industry with the purchase of Los Coyotes CC in 1980. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ida McAuley, his four children: Virginia Ginnie (Koether), Richard McAuley, Gary McAuley and Mark Keene, twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A reception will be held at Los Coyotes Country Club on June 24th, 2010 at 4PM to 7PM.
