Life Reflections of Curley B Rachal June 1, 1937- March 1, 2013 Curley Beatrice Rachal (affectionately known as Maw-Maw ) was born in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana to the parentage of Beverly and Octavia (Vercher) Williams. She was the 6th born of eight children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Louisiana. On January 4, 1953 Curley was united in holy matrimony for 51 years to Clyde Joseph Rachal Sr., (who preceded her in death,). After migrating to California from Louisiana in 1953 in search of a promising future, this union produced 7 Children. She was able to hold down various house cleaning/care jobs simultaneously in the Palos Verde, Calif area while raising these children and maintaining, yet her own household. Curley B later became a revered figure in her own neighborhood after the family purchase of the corner grocery store in order to afford a Christian Education for her children. She was the backbone of her family and still, as a business owner and worker, was able to raise all of her children on her File (fee-lay) gumbo, biscuits, chicken and okra, red beans and rice and the like. No one ever went hungry around Aunt Curley . She remained faithful to the Lord and later joined the Friendship Baptist Church of Yorba Linda, but due to ongoing illnesses, she was unable to attend regular services. On March 1, 2013 this strong willed, soft spirited woman went home to be with the Lord and her loved ones in heaven, including her parents, her husband Clyde Sr., and her five older siblings, Ruby Fradiue, Francis Dandridge, Ruth Louis, R.V. and Roy Williams. She looks forward with joy to her long awaited reunion with her beloved Baby Girl Renee Faye Rachal (Ashlock) and precious son Claude Ray Rachal, who also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory and to rejoice in her spirit, her children, Clyde Rachal Jr., Joann Rachal, Samuel Rachal, Curley W. Rachal (McGee), and Reuben Rachal, daughters-in-law, Annette, Regina, Desiree and Yolanda, Rachal, Her remaining two siblings Anna Metoyer and James Williams, Myka Roseboro Dotson, a granddaughter whom she raised as her own from early childhood, 25 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends, all of whom she prayed for daily.
