Delford H. Long, Jr., age 85 of New Brighton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Benedictine-Innsbruck Health Care Center in New Brighton.Delford was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene Long; sister, Carolyn Gish; grandson, Luke Ollig; and granddaughter, Jennifer Buntyn. He is survived by his daughters, Denise Reddish, Donna Buntyn, and Deanna (Steven) Ollig; grandchildren, Richard (Deanne) Long, Stephanie (James) Christofferson, Brandi Bueche, Eddie (Stevie) Pettigrew, Matthew Ollig, Lauren Ollig, and Alondra Ollig; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.Delford was an Honorably discharged Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served in the Korean War.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or the Alzheimer's Association.
