Born August 10th, 1952, to Ruth and Peter Morales Sr., Diane lived her childhood in Fullerton, CA with her six siblings Vivian, Clara, Junior (Peter), Charles, George, and Tim, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby. Family gatherings, especially in La Habra (Alta Vista) at her grandparents, led to a love of cooking and dancing and filled her heart with cherished memories. She often spoke fondly of adventurous escapades she shared with her sisters and uncles Chava and Benny at the Alta Vista home and into their teen years.
After Diane graduated from Fullerton High School in 1970, she went on to study at Fullerton Community College and had a career in the medical field until she retired in 2015.
In the early 1990s, Diane met the love of her life Dennis McClanahan. They lived in Murrieta for 25 years with Dennis’s daughter, Jennifer, and their two dogs, Kobe and Princess. Diane and Dennis were foodies who were always eager to share their opinions and recommendations about local restaurants and eateries. They shared a mutual passion for cooking, slot machines, and casino hopping. Sadly, Dennis passed away suddenly in 2016. After his passing, Diane returned to her family home in Fullerton where she lived with her mother, sister (Clara), niece (Sarah), and nephew (Bobby).
Affectionately called “Nonny” by many of her nieces and nephews, Diane was a deeply adored and respected mother figure. She was sensitive, kind, and compassionate with a heart of gold, incredibly generous with her time, selfless, and fiercely loyal to her family.
Diane will be remembered for her deeply held spiritual beliefs exercised through a warm, loving, and caring heart. She collected rosaries and always gave a blessing to family and friends whenever they left her presence. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, and strength, and was full of love for her family and those who went before her. She will be missed dearly.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Ruth and Peter Sr., her life partner Dennis, her sister Vivian, her brother Junior, her sister-in-law Denise, and her niece Lena. She is survived by her siblings Clara, George, Charles (Madelia), and Tim (Luella), and sister-in-law Dorothy; her step-daughter Jennifer (Brian), nieces Vina, Sarah, Sonya, Rosanne, Theresa, Christina, Marisa, Cassandra, and Mia; nephews Vincent and Bobby, 14 great-nieces and nephews Valentino, Joseph, Taylor, Bobby, Isaac, Destiny, Iris, Leilah, Leilani, Isabella, Manual, Andrew, Alexandria, Alexander; and three great-great nieces, Jayla-Rose, Alina, and Imara.
