Evangeline "Eva" Valdez, 90, passed away on September 6, 2026. Born on January 8, 1936, Evangeline was a beloved and cherished presence whose gentle spirit, patient strength, and kind-hearted ways left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. With a faithful heart and a devoted nature, she lived quietly but meaningfully—offering compassion, loyalty, and generosity in the steady, everyday ways that matter most.
Raised in Rancho Santa Ana, Ca—a historical place her family regarded as magical—Evangeline spent her early years there until marrying at the age of 19. That beginning shaped a life grounded in family, constancy, and care, marked by a calm grace that was both reassuring and inspirational.
Evangeline was married for 71 years to Jose Valdez. A stay-at-home person, she found her purpose in caring for those she loved, and her life revolved around her family. Her devotion was evident in the home she nurtured and the tenderness she extended to others, always with a compassionate steadiness and a gentle hand. She was the proud mother of two boys and two girls, and she is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude: thank you to the entire family for stepping in to assist when mom got sick. That support reflected the same loyal, generous love Evangeline so faithfully gave throughout her life.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 29 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 400 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton. A Committal Service will follow at Loma Vista Memorial Park, 701 E Bastanchury Rd, Fullerton, CA 92835.
