

Floyd Mayweather was born August 22, 1922 in Lexa Arkansas. He was one of three boys out of a total number of eight children born to Wardell and Peoria Mayweather. Floyd joined the Army and courageously represented our country in Europe during World War II. He proudly served in the military from 1942 -1947 receiving for his service the American Campaign medal, WWII medal, Good Conduct medal Bronze star and the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign medal. After the war, he was hospitalized in Colorado for tuberculosis. It was at Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Aurora, CO in 1948 that Floyd met Louise Brewer. During their courtship, the couple moved to Los Angeles in 1950 and later married in Phoenix, AZ on August 6, 1955. The couple remained married until Louise's departure to heaven on October 3, 2010. Floyd was a man that believed in hard work and dedication. He displayed these values as a construction worker where he oversaw the work on many jobs. He later retired from construction and dedicated his time to landscaping where he would socialize with neighbors and take pride in his handy work. In 1988, the family moved to Anaheim California where Floyd became the adored crossing guard for Anaheim Hills Elementary School. He was beloved by children, parents and teachers for his friendliness and time and attention given to the children. On November 1, 2014, (Papa) Floyd Mayweather was received into heaven joining his daughter Beverly Jean, son Leonard and his sisters Willie, Althea and Mercile along with his brothers Lloyd, and Henry. He is survived by his two sisters Louise Adkins and Lettie Crawford, daughter Paula, his grandson Anson, whom he raised as his son and his wife Tanya, granddaughter Tamdrika, and her husband Rami, granddaughter Chandra (Sho Sho), whom he raised as his daughter and her husband Kris Perry, granddaughter Andrea, and her husband Liam Kilgallon, granddaughter Venita, and great grandchildren Anson Blake Mayweather Jr., Myles Perry, Hailey Mayweather, Kayla Mayweather, Micah Kilgallon, and Amir Hammadi and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews , others and close friends. He leaves behind a legacy of generosity, great conversations, and cherished memories. We loved him dearly and celebrate his homecoming.
