Geoffrey Terence Boatright, 46, of Anaheim, CA, died at home suddenly on Friday, July 20, 2018. Known to family, friends, and colleagues as Terry, he was born in Fullerton and grew up in Placentia, graduating in 1990 from El Dorado High School. He went on to earn his Associate’s degree in Business from Fullerton College and his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Cal State Fullerton. After dating his high school sweetheart Paula for over eight years, he proposed to her on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and they wed on August 7, 1999 in Lakewood, CA. They were blessed with two children, Taylor, 8, and Braydon, 7. Terry was self-employed for 23 years as a sound engineer, honored to count Disney as his biggest client. His work took him to some interesting places, such as Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee’s home for the MTV show Cribs, the Beverly Hills Hotel for Jenny Craig commercials featuring Valerie Bertinelli, and hospitals for medical procedures, such as those related to relieving the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, for example. He fulfilled his life-long dream of flying when, in 2002, he earned his private pilot’s license, and experienced the mountains of Big Bear and the volcanoes of Hawaii at the controls of four-seater Cessnas. He earned his diver’s certification and sailing license with his best friend Dave, treasuring the time they shared sailing to Catalina Island, and diving together in Catalina and Hawaii. He was a long-time fan of the Steelers and the Kings, and followed Formula 1 and NHRA drag racing for many years. King’s Canyon was his favorite fishing and camping destination, and spending time with his wife and sons in Topock Gorge on the Colorado River brought him great joy. His interest in wood-working lead to the construction of many custom pieces he made for his home. His radio-controlled toys included airplanes, helicopters, a sailboat and a Traxxis truck. He and his boys enjoyed riding bikes, playing music, and having fun at the beach together. With friends Mel and Larry, he pursued his interest in shooting sports, and was both a fan of and participant in the game of golf. Terry is survived by his wife Paula, two sons Taylor (8) and Braydon (7), brothers Todd and Tyson, and parents Charles and Karen.
