Giovanna Maria Martorana also known as Jan or Janna passed away peacefully in the evening on October 29, 2025 at the age of 89 at the Emerald Court Assisted Living Home in Anaheim, CA. She was born into a large Sicilian/Italian family in North Bergan, New Jersey on January 20, 1936 to Giovannina (Jennie) and Bartolo Campanella. She grew up with two siblings, Frank and Joseph Campanella. Her family moved to California in 1944. She attended Our Lady of Loretto Grammar School and High School in Los Angeles. On November 25, 1954, she married Carlo Martorana, and they raised four children Russ, Carl, Jane and Teresa. Giovanna was a homemaker and worked in industrial printing sales for many years. She volunteered in the PTA, Italian Catholic Federation, was President of the Emerald Court Resident Association, and participated in a Small Christian Community for several years. She is survived by her children, Russ, Carl and Jane, two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, as well as four great grandchildren. May she enjoy the everlasting peace of God!
