Gregory Garrington Spence, 75, passed away on September 29, 2026. Born on November 22, 1950, Gregory will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection by all who had the privilege to know him.
A graduate of CSUF, Gregory carried forward a steady dedication to learning and to doing things well—qualities that remained evident throughout his life. His faithfulness and devotion were not expressed in grand declarations, but in the consistent, gentle ways he showed up for others, offering kindness, patience, and care.
Gregory served in the US Army Reserves, a commitment reflecting a quiet sense of duty and steadfastness. He later built a long and distinguished career as an engineer at AT&T, where he worked for 30 years. Those who knew him best recognized not only his reliability and skill, but also the generous spirit and good humor he brought into everyday moments—an easy warmth that made people feel welcome and at ease.
Gregory was married to Gwen, and he adored his two children, Garrington and Gabrielle, as well as his four grandchildren. His love for family was constant and evident, rooted in compassion and expressed through a gentle presence that could be both steady and uplifting.
A musician at heart, Gregory found joy in the rhythms that connect people—whether through music, his love of all sports, or his enthusiasm as an avid car enthusiast. In these interests, as in all parts of his life, he was beloved for the way he shared his time, his attention, and his kind-hearted nature with others.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, October 23 at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 902 N Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA.
