Jeanne Marie (Butimore) Williams was born on April 8, 1931 in Dubuque, Iowa to Genevieve and Matthew Butimore, the youngest of four children. She moved to Southern California at a young age and was the first in her family to finish college, a proud alumna of Cal State Long Beach. She later returned to college to receive her master’s degree.
In California she met her husband of almost 70 years, Bob Williams. They were married on December 27, 1952. They shared a love of travel, reading, music and animals. She lived in Fullerton the last 66 years of her life.
Faith was a guiding star of Jeanne’s life and she was a founding and active member of St. Juliana’s Catholic Church. She served a number of years on the bereavement committee and taught a few years at the elementary school. Most of her teaching career was spent with the Fullerton Elementary School District where she taught various grades as well as serving as a reading specialist, learning disabilities specialist and resource teacher. She loved children and helping them succeed.
Jeanne passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on June 11, 2026, exactly four years after her husband Bob. She is survived by her daughter Ellen (Mark Volmert), son John (Connie Williams), niece Ann and several other nieces and nephews, grandchildren Alex, Evan, Katy and Anne, her great-grandchildren Daniel, James, and Samantha, her grand nephew Ben and great grand niece and nephew Teagan and Logan.
