Gerald (Jerry) Arthur Fulkerson died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, April 16th. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Louis and Dorothy Fulkerson (née Giffin) on October 25, 1943, the family moved to Long Beach in 1954. Jerry attended Millikan High School, graduating in the class of 1961, soon after finding his calling as a salesman and business owner. After his first marriage, Jerry was introduced by his then five-year-old daughter, Tina, to the love of his life, Charlotte. Together, Jerry and Char built a successful business and happy life, filled with loving friends and family. A positive and cheerful person through even the most difficult times, Jerry saw the best in everyone and sought to bring nothing but happiness to those around him. In addition to his wife and daughter, many friends and business associates, he leaves his beloved family: sister-in-law Angie Fulkerson, nephews Michael Fulkerson (and his wife Brandy) and Russell Fulkerson (and his wife Lory), great-nieces Paige and Emma, and great-nephews Michael, Jr., and Jack. Jerry was never happier than when he was with his family – his kindness, generosity, and optimism will be missed by them and many others. A service celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at the Bay Shore Community Congregational Church in Long Beach, officiated by his son-in-law, the Rev. James D. Meacham, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, at 5100 The Toledo, Long Beach, 90803.
