Julia Rosemarie Maine

Julia Rosemarie “Rose” Maine, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026, in Yorba Linda, California.

Rose was born on October 7, 1938, in Leicester, England. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Bruce “Bruce” Maine, originally of Glendale, California, who passed away in 2013, and by her son, Mitchell Ray Shands Jr., who passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 65.

Rose and Bruce made their home in Carlsbad, California. For the past 18 months, Rose resided at Sunrise Senior Living in Yorba Linda, where she enjoyed the companionship and friendship of those around her.

Rose loved watching English football, especially following the 2026 World Cup. She also enjoyed walking and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by her closest family: her stepson Mark Maine and his wife Shauna; step grandson, Matthew Maine and his wife Sarah; step granddaughter, Christina Maine and her partner Carla Vargas; step great grandchildren Opal and Clark Maine; and step great granddaughter Emma Maine. She is also survived by her nephew, Anthony Nyland, and her niece, Helen Conway, both of whom reside in England.

Rose will be remembered with love by her family and friends for the life she lived and the friendships she shared. She will be deeply missed.
