

Kenneth Alexander was born on November 21, 1965. He grew up in Huntington Beach, California and graduated from Huntington Beach HS. Ken joined the United States Army in 1984 and upon his discharge from the army attended the Golden West Police Academy. Ken began his law enforcement career with the Tustin Police Department in 1988. Later that year, Ken moved to the Los Angeles Housing Authority Police Department. Ken was a member of the SWAT Team and was a Detective assigned to gangs and narcotics. Ken was awarded the Los Angeles Housing Authority Medal of Valor in 1996. In 1997, Ken was hired by the Placentia Police Department. During his tenure with Placentia, Ken was a Patrol Officer and a DARE Officer. He was an original member of the North County SWAT Team. Ken was awarded the Placentia Police Department Distinguished Service Medal in 2002 for his courageous actions at the scene of a major train crash between a freight train and a commuter train. Ken was promoted to Sergeant in 2006 and Lieutenant in 2012. Ken remained in the US Army Reserves until 2008. He was attached to the 19th Special Forces Group and served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among Ken's many military awards, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his role in the rescue operation of Jessica Lynch, a US Soldier captured by the Taliban. Ken went to be with the Lord Sunday evening at 8:28 pm while at St. Jude Medical Center. Ken is survived by his mother Carol, His brothers Ben and Paul, his sister Robin, his sons Byron, Sean, and Tyler, his wife Michelle, step-son Jonah, and countless extended family members including his law enforcement and military families. Memorial service to be held Tuesday November 18, 2014, 10 AM at Eastside Christian Church, 3300 E. Miraloma Anaheim, CA 92806 with burial at Riverside National Cemetery Riverside, CA.
