Lisa Marie Apalategui passed away peacefully on January 24, 2015 after a brave and valiant battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her daughters Lily and Savannah Apalategui, her father Phillip Apalategui (Monica) , mother Phyllis Craig (Rick), sister Tina Christie (James), step-brothers Matthew Cordry (David) and Christopher Cordry (Nathalie). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as a host of friends and relatives. Lisa was born in Fullerton and grew up in Placentia spending most of her life there. She also lived for a few years in Chino. She had just graduated from Medical Assisting School and was looking forward to working in this field prior to her diagnosis of Breast Cancer. Most of her working life though was spent as a hair stylist to both women and men, being a barber until just last year at Scott's Barber Shop in Anaheim. Lisa loved everything to do with fairies. She felt they were magical and did not miss a Renaissance Fair even when sick with her cancer. She had a strong Catholic faith that held her up during the most trying times of her illness and she will be remembered for her strength and bravery during this time. Most of all Lisa loved her daughters with all that she had in her. Family was everything to her and she loved all the family get-togethers and BBQs. We will miss her beautiful smile, her effervescence and spontaneity, sympathy for others, her tremendous love of children, and just her essence. She will be in our hearts forever. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday evening, Jan. 29, 2015 at McAulay Wallace Mortuary in Fullerton from 6-8 pm for all to share their memories of Lisa. A funeral Mass will be conducted on Friday Jan. 30, 2015 at Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church in Yorba Linda at 10, with burial at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery following, and then a reception at Alta Vista Country Club. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Susan G. Komen Orange County.
