Lois Cannon Stene

Stene, Lois Letitia Cannon, 96, passed away 1/5/2013 in Placentia, California. Lois was born July 23,1916 in Brayton, Iowa, to Arthur Calvin and Daisy Heath Cannon. Lois later lived in LaGrange, Illinois and Tucson, Arizona before moving to Fullerton in 1960. Lois enjoyed traveling around the US, Canada, Europe, and especially Hawaii. She was well-known in the Fullerton area and in Hawaii for her poetry. Her poems have been read at weddings and funerals, and many were requested for celebratory events and publication in newsletters. She worked as a bookkeeper for several years before her children arrived, and later worked for the Auto Club of Southern California for 19 years. Lois is survived by her children Linda Henke, Ina (David) Woolman, and Ron (Roslyn) Stene; beloved grandchildren Jason Stene, Alan Henke, and nine stepgrandchildren; great-grandson Jacob Stene and 10 step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Gloria VanDemmeltraadt, Marion Cannon, and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 1/12/2013 at 1:00 p.m., at the Fullerton First United Methodist Church, 114 North Pomona Ave, Fullerton. Private Burial will at at Loma Vista Cemetery, Fullerton.
