Lorraine Rena Turissini, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and cherished member of the Fullerton community, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Peckville, Pennsylvania, Lorraine was raised in a wonderful and loving Italian family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mondo and Johanna Turissini, and her beloved brother, Anthony.
In 1979, Lorraine and her daughter, Tami, moved from Pennsylvania to California, beginning a new chapter in their lives. California became home, and Lorraine went on to build a remarkable career in administration and human resources, working in both the technology and education fields.
Lorraine's professional accomplishments were only one part of the legacy that she left behind. She was deeply committed to giving back to her community. For many years, she volunteered with the Fullerton Police Department's RSVP Program and served as a Board member of the Fullerton Museum Center, becoming a treasured part of those organizations.
In 2025, the City of Fullerton honored Lorraine as Woman of the Year, recognizing her many years of dedication to service, leadership, and commitment to the community. This honor was especially meaningful to Lorraine and her family because it reflected the profound impact she had on the people and community she cared so deeply about.
Lorraine also had a wonderful sense of adventure and a deep love of travel. She and her husband, Tony, especially enjoyed cruising together, exploring new places and creating memories along the way. Over the years, Lorraine had the opportunity to travel to an abundance of countries and experience different cultures, sights, and traditions. Travel was one of the many ways she embraced life, and the adventures she shared with Tony became treasured chapters in their life together.
To those who knew her, Lorraine was also known for some of the things that simply made her Lorraine. She was an avid elephant lover, and her home was filled with elephant figurines collected and proudly displayed over the years. Each one was a little reflection of her personality—strong, loyal, wise, and full of character.
Lorraine is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tony; her daughter, Tami; and her Nonni-loving grandchildren, Matthew and Rachel, who will forever carry her love and memory in their hearts.
Lorraine's life was defined by love of family, dedication to others, a spirit of adventure, and a commitment to making her community a better place. Her kindness, strength, humor, generosity, and zest for life will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She leaves behind not only a family who adored her, but a community of friends who were made better because she was part of it.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
