

Maria Luz Rivera was born on May 29, 1948 in Cochabamba, Bolivia to Nicolas Camacho and Margarita Claros. She was one of seven children,.(Elizabeth d., Arminda d. Maria d., Blanca d., Matilde d., Juvenal and Efrain) Her mother passed away when she was very young and she lived at an orphanage for a short time before she was reunited with her grandmother & siblings. After the passing of her grandmother, she went to live in a convent school where she graduated and received her high school diploma. She met her future husband, Jaime Humberto Rivera in La Paz, Bolivia. They were married in January 1968 and later that same year welcomed their beautiful daughter, Patricia M. Rivera. Looking for a better tomorrow, they immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in Los Angeles, California. In 1972, they welcomed their second child, their handsome son, Ronald O. Rivera. As a result of an employment opportunity, the family relocated to Orange County and settled in Fullerton, CA. Unfortunately tragedy struck the young family in 1975, her husband & father of her children, passed away at St Jude's Hospital, Fullerton. It can be said, that Maria Luz was a strong courageous women. After the passing of her husband, at the young age of 27, she was left alone to raise two young children, in a new country without family support. She bravely assimilated to American life. She learned the language, worked hard, bought a home and was mother and father to her children. She emphasized the value of education and the opportunities that her children could benefit from in continuing to live in the United States away from her entire family. She didn't place any importance on material objects; her passion was to experience life, traveling, the importance of family and creating memories with her family & friends Maria Luz Rivera enjoyed spending time gardening and created a beautiful garden in her backyard, where the family enjoyed many family events. She enjoyed traveling with family, going to Bolivian parties, dancing and spoiling her grandchildren, and nieces and nephews, besides being such a strong woman she was loving, thoughtful, gentle and kind and welcomed everyone with a warm smile. She was many things to many people; she was a loving daughter, a caring sister, a wife, a loving mother and aunt, a proud grandmother and devoted friend. She passed away on July 26, 2015 in her home surround by the love of her family. She will be reunited with her husband and also with her sisters that preceded her in their passing. Her legacy of love and bravery will be carried on proudly by her family, who will think of her and thank her every day.
