I had the privilege of meeting Dolly at the Stokes Award Dinner in New York City, where I was invited by her son, Steve Van Doren, who was being honored with an award. The event was held in a beautiful penthouse, making the evening even more special.

Before Steve gave his acceptance speech, he asked me to spend some time talking with his mom. What an amazing conversation we had. I will always treasure that moment and feel so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet her and spend time together.

Dolly, you will surely be missed. My heartfelt condolences go out to Steve, the Van Doren family, and everyone whose lives she touched. Rest in peace.
