

Mathijs (Matt) Nussy passed away peacefully to his eternal home on July 28th with his loving family by his side. He was 85 years old. His journey began on Feb. 8, 1931 when he was born to Johannes and Maria Nussy in Atjeh, Indonesia. He was #14 of 17 siblings. At age 21, he left for Holland where he lived and started his family. He, eventually, immigrated to southern California in 1960. He worked as a chemical technician for several companies throughout his working career until he retired in 1998. A lifelong musician, he used those gifts to make people happy! Whether it was with his band and putting on a Hawaiian show, or most recent, teaching everyone in his church congregation to play the ukulele and singing his beloved Indonesian songs. Matt lived his life with compassion and love and generosity for others! His smile and enthusiasm can light up a room! He was “Opa” to all those who knew and loved him. His greatest joy was his family! This lovely man will truly be missed by all! He is now singing with the heavenly choir and looking over us with joy! He is survived by his wife Renee, daughter Diane (husband Randy), niece Eva (husband Sander), sister Lea (in Indonesia). Grandchildren – Danny (wife Kristin), Timmy (wife Christy), Robbie (wife Michelle), and Amelia. Great Grandchildren – Ellery, Kenzie, Ainsley, Mikayla, Tyler. Extended family – Debbie, Cynthia and families, Louhennapessy children A celebration of life will be held on August 21st, 1:00 pm at the Baptist church hall at 18372 E. Lemon Drive, Yorba Linda, CA.
