

He was born in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1954 a son of the late Peter and Betty Stanko. He is survived by the love of his life Phyllis, his two daughters Michelle Vazquez and Gina Wagner, his 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and his brothers, John Stanko in New York and Steve Stanko in Colorado.
Mike lived in Fullerton for over 40 years. He loved his home and was very proud of it.
In his younger years, Mike was in the hospitality business, working for the Hilton, the Marriott and joined the Balboa Bay Club in 1977. He served as Vice President/General Manager and he had wonderful memories in his 17 years there.
He joined MAP, (Management Action Programs) in 1995 and served as an Executive Consultant, a Team Leader, Board Member and Managing Partner. Mike won every award imaginable at MAP including the prestigious Brown Tie Award and the MAP Values Award. Mike loved MAP and was very passionate about it.
Mike was also a former member of the Newport Beach Chamber of Commerce.
He loved golf, and he truly enjoyed mentoring and coaching people to help them be their best.
A Celebration of Life for Mike will be held on November 16, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. McAulay and Wallace Mortuaries, 902 N. Harbor, Fullerton, CA 92832.
