
Raymond was born on April 9, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York to Carmelo and Angela San Filippo. Raymond was raised in Brooklyn and graduated high school from Brooklyn Prep in 1956 and went on to receive his BA in Accounting from Fordham University in 1960. He met his wife, Emilia, in 1956. They were married on July 7, 1962. They had 2 children, Ray and Debbie. Raymond pursued his career in finance with Coopers and Lybrand. In 1970 he moved the family to Plantation, Florida. Their 3rd child, Brian, was born in Florida. Ray continued his career with Coopers and Lybrand and became a partner. In 1981, the family moved again, to Yorba Linda, California, where they still reside today. Once in California, Ray pursued a new career path, helping to establish T.B.G. Financial, a financial and insurance services firm.
Ray was a lifelong avid golfer and pursued his passion for golf well into his retirement years. He took the family on many golf outings, including one of his favorites, Pebble Beach.
Raymond was predeceased by his parents and his son Brian San Filippo. He is survived by his wife, Emilia; son Ray (Sylvia) San Filippo and granddaughter Sophia of Brea, CA; daughter Debbie (Pat) Norris and grandchildren Patrick and Tiffany of San Diego, CA; nephew Tom (Tammy) Bozza of Evanston, IL; nephew Phil (Kim) Bozza of Destin, FL; niece Donna (Peter) DiMicelli of Manalapan, NJ; niece Karen Cabany of River Edge, NJ; nephew Robert (Christina) Lauro of Manalapan, NJ and niece Jessica (Tim) Back of Mount Royal, NJ.
There will be a viewing on December 26, 2019 from 6-8 pm at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary in Yorba Linda, CA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on December 27, 2019 at 10am at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic Church, Yorba Linda, CA. There will be a reception in the church hall immediately following the mass and burial at 2pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
