Rebecca "Burger Becky" Ann Heineman

Rebecca “Burger Becky”, Ann Heineman, was born October 30, 1963 in Whittier, California where she grew up to become a self-taught computer programmer, engineer, and designer. The 1980’s fed her obsession with gaming which led her to win the first ever National Space Invaders Championship hosted by Atari 2600, the catalyst to her future role pioneering the gaming industry. In 1983, she helped co-found Interplay Productions, which later blossomed to a well-known publicly traded company. Later in 1990, amidst her newfound success, she found herself taking on a new role, Parenthood. Her children meant the world to her, often taking them with her to her place of work where they all got to experience the joy of gaming together.

Burger Becky would go on to co-found companies such as Logicware Inc, Contraband Entertainment, and Olde Skuul. Throughout her career, she worked with companies such as Electronic Arts, Boone Corporation, Mumbo Jumbo Games, Barking Lizards Technologies, Sensory Sweep Studios, Microsoft’s Xbox division, and Sony’s Computer Entertainment Research and Development division for PlayStation. Her hobbies included Baking, Nursing, Piloting, becoming a Markswoman and Writing. Her most notable work being the fanfiction saga “Sailor Ranko”, which grew a substantial fanbase.

In 2013, Becky married the love of her life, Jennell Jaquays, a pioneer and fellow gaming industry legend in her own right. Together they experienced all that life had to offer, from adventurous journeys to becoming Grandmas, a feat they truly cherished and enjoyed. Unfortunately, their time together was cut short in 2024, when Jennell’s vessel would leave this earth due to an unforeseen illness. Widowed now, and not but a year later, Becky too would fall to a fatal form of cancer. Becky and Jennell are now reunited in Valhalla and are survived by their loving children, William Heineman, Maria Heineman, Cynthia Heineman, Zachary Jaquays, and Amanda Jaquays.
