Richard “Dick” James Witteman was born on April 7, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Albinus and Hazel Witteman; he had a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Barbara. Dick graduated from Loyola H.S. in LA in 1948. He married Patricia Verhalen in 1953; together they raised a family of five: Michael, Gary, Stephen, Karen (Remender) and David. There are 10 grandchildren. Dick graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1953 with a BS in mechanical engineering. He retired in 1994 as chief engineer from Lucas Aerospace (formerly Western Gear), having started with the company in 1954. Loyola Marymount University was proud to honor Dick’s professional accomplishments by inducting him into the university’s Wall of Fame within the College of Science and Engineering; the honor was bestowed in 2003. Dick entered into Eternity on July 12, 2017. A Catholic memorial mass will be held on Monday, July 31, 12 noon at San Antonio de Padua Church 5800 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road, Anaheim Hills.
