Robert Frederick Buehler, otherwise known as Bob, was born on October 5, 1941 in Stamford, Connecticut. His parents Fred and Helen had two children, Gary and Bob. When Bob was about 7 years old, they moved to California. Bob was raised Catholic, and attended St. Bernadette’s Catholic School. Later, he attended Montebello High School, where he played sports and enjoyed working on cars. After graduating High School, he enlisted in the US Army in July of 1960. While serving in the Army, Bob joined the Fife and Drum Corps, and had the honor of playing for President Kennedy and his wife, Jacqueline. After he was honorably discharged from the US Army, Bob married Susan and had 3 children: Kelley, Michelle, and Allan. This was when he began his career in the confectionary industry. After his marriage ended, Bob met Linda, and they married in 1979. Together, they moved to Yorba Linda where they continued to grow the Buehler Family, and had 3 more children: Paul, Paloma, and Allyson. During this time, Bob was inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in Hershey Pennsylvania, in 1997. We can honestly say, that in the 50 plus years of being in the industry, he thoroughly loved what he did every day.
In fact, over his lifetime and the 41 years spent with Linda, Bob enjoyed many things… These included: gatherings with the family, games, his pets, reading, his career, friends, the outdoors, sports, traveling, the beach, gardening, his pool, random stories and jokes, laughter, and plenty of sleep… But above all, he loved his family.
Bob was an amazing, honest, humble, caring, funny, respected, kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all… He will truly be missed.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children, Kelley (John), Michelle (Jeff), Allan (Sarah), Paul, Paloma (Ryan), Allyson (Nick); grandchildren, Maggie (Oscar), Amanda, Robert, Seth, Hudson, Roxy, Ella; great grandson Ethan; brothers, Gary (Vicki), Kurt (Yvonne), Karl; sister Laura (Neal); and numerous nieces and nephews. He has now joined his 8th grandchild Kade… Forever.
